Pogno Paese DipintoPogno, the painted town
Pogno, one of the villages where taps and fittings’ industry developed more, is full of murals by famous painters, and many artists were invited by the commune to paint the walls of the city centre in 2005.
The preliminary works have been carried out for many months, since the importance of the event involved the inhabitants as well as the local authorities during the whole year: the paintings have been executed in late-spring and summer.
Seven paintings and a piece of pottery adorn the suburb and sing the praises of water, an essential element for the human being.
Water is the source of life, not only for men; it can be dangerous and men have always struggled against its force, trying to tame it. Water technology shares the mankind history from ancient times to modern times, from running water to the development of taps and fittings’ industry which had a great influence in Pogno’s growth and in the district named after the tap.
